A report recently published by Defaqto, stating that some separated and single parent families may not be fully insured by their family travel policies. According to Defaqto, there were many variations in the small-print definitions of ‘family’, and certain policies may not cover all separated families. For example, a parent who doesn’t live with his or her child might not be covered by the policy when they take their children on holiday. It is becoming a big concern because not all insurers are making changed to their policies to reflect the new nature of families in 21st century.
