When one longtime St. Louisan saw his car insurance bill jump 28 percent, he was shocked.

He was even more irate when he learned the reason: an unresolved issue with a creditor had left a blot on his otherwise unblemished credit report. He didn’t understand what his credit report had to do with his car insurance rate.

Multi-Car Households Safer Than Single-Car Households

Households owning more than one car are 22 per cent less likely to crash than those with a single car, according to Admiral Insurance. Admiral claim the main reason multi-car households are less likely to crash is because they own more expensive cars than single-car households – and therefore are more cautious drivers. (more…)

Thousands of unfit drivers could be risking a car insurance claim

Thousands of motorists in Northern Ireland may be risking a claim on their car insurance after a reports highlighted that some may have wrongly passed their driving test.

According to findings by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), up to 5,000 motorists may have passed their driving test while being unfit to get behind the wheel, the BBC reports. (more…)

Dangerous speed bumps to impact upon car insurance?

UK residents have named the country’s worst and potentially car insurance claim inducing speed bump in a recent survey.

The study by Continental Tyres found that the title of worst hump in the country went to a sleeping policeman in Staffordshire.

According to the results, the hump lies in a flood-prone area and is often under water, placing it out of view of motorists. (more…)
