Should Profit be their main objective or should it be providing good health care to you and me? Don’t these priorities conflict?
If I support Obama’s plan of moving closer towards universal health care coverage why I are republicans claiming I am in favor of the Government running my life….I just want good health care coverage and not to be screwed around by my own health insurance providor.
No. They should be more interested in making “responable” profit instead of gouging.
I do think the priority should be on providing good health care.
But all it takes is the word “company” to know that profit comes first on their agenda.
If you want good health care coverage, then go purchase it and stop expecting someone else to do your work for you.
Try getting good health care at the existing government provided health care facilities, the VA.
The objective of every business is to make a profit. PERIOD. If the government gets involved in health care, then rationing of services can’t be far behind. Look at Canada, Great Britain for examples. The one model that would allow everyone to have low cost insurance would be for the government to make it mandatory that everyone have health insurance just like they do car insurance. Once that pool of premiums is larger, the cost will diminish.
All companies are in business to make a profit. Health care is not a right it’s a privilege.
Don’t be silly. The government can’t give you good health care. They can barely give you a freaking driver’s license.
Every efficient organization must earn a profit. It’s ok for the government to impose some regulations to ensure ethical business practices, but the fact remains… profit is the motivation to make things happen.
