It depends. There's always a few quacks out there, but for the most part these clinics are on the up and up and do provide very good service. As matter of fact, I run one of those clinics. I work with patients who are on Medicaid and Medicare and have fixed incomes. Not a whole lot of people know it, but insurance companies pretty much dicate what a physician can and can't do if they decide to contract with the insurance company and if the insurance company feels they are not seeing enough patients per day they can actually deduct money from the doctor. It's very sad. Plus, the insurance company has certain guidelines on what they will pay for certain services, so the physician usually never receives the amount they bill for. It's always lower. Hope this helps some.
