My husband and I need health insurance. He is a full time student and I am full time worker. We cannot get decent health insurance through his school or my work. We are looking for a low deductable, 0% coinsurance, and we need something with great maternity coverage, since we’re planning on starting a family soon. Wednesday, July 29th, 2009From my research so far, it appears that if you have a group health care coverage, it tends to be cheaper than if you have to buy the insurance yourself. For example, a family of 4 may pay as much as $700 a month or more for some decent coverage, but perhaps group coverage from your employer may cost you $400 or so. But if your employer does not offer it, are there any associations that offer health insurance to their members? Associations that anyone can join?

Last time I tried I ended up in a psych ward. Are there slidding scale psych clinics in Austin that could be of help until I find new group coverage? Any helpful information at all would be great.
