My job sponsored group health insurance will expire. Is there a way I can stay covered?

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009
I was fired from my job in October and my health insurance coverage will expire at the end of the month. My company had fewer than 20 employees. Is there a way I can maintain coverage? I understand that COBRA does not apply with companies that have fewer than 20 employees.

How can I get free health insurance?

Monday, June 29th, 2009
I am 20 yrs old and just started college. I am independent and live on my own, am not dependent on parents once so ever. I have no job now and I really should have health insurance. I can’t afford a monthly insurance bill without having a steady source of income, because I’m in college F.T. I am very healthy and have never needed to go to the hospital for anything in my childhood. But I feel that I should have health insurance now because of all the stuff I do, that I could easily get hurt. Please advise.

Where can I get private health insurance?

I need health insurance, like I know many people do. I have cancer, but I guess that’s not considered a disabilty because I was turned down. My job does not pay for medical.

I know several married couples where they have two different insurance policies through each of their employers, and they get to pick and choose which one to use. I don’t have a spouse. I know several people who are alcoholics who have an HMO through their retirement and they are in the hospital every other month, simply because they have over drank. They run to the doctor every two months for very trivial things/ I know of several who abuse the veterans hospital from runny noses to a simple headache, plus they are paid monthly for a disabilty they don’t have. They just don’t want to work.

I think married couples should only be able to use one insurance policy, and these others should be only allowed to go to the doctor a few times a year. If they are an alcoholic send them to AA.

Do most colleges offer good health insurance to students?

Sunday, June 28th, 2009
For example, I attend to 4 year university which has health insurance packages for students, but they are very expensive and I can’t afford. The coverage is up to 100, 000 and deductible $300 and after that 80% coverage. I found out that private individual plans in area near my college for the cost nearly the same offer greater coverage like $1 million and $250 deductible and 100% coverage. I thought that health insurace offered by colleges are cheaper but aren’t always.

Or does the health insurance pay the agents a commission?

Where do you go for health care if you have no insurance?

Thursday, June 25th, 2009
My throat seriously started hurting on Saturday. Two days later, I still have fever, chills, sore throat, and the tell-tale markings on my tonsils of strep. Which means I need prescription medicine. Unfortunately, my husband and I hit severely hard times about 5 months ago. We’re mostly caught up now, but one thing we still don’t have is health insurance. So, we make just a little bit too much money to qualify for federal aid, yet paying out-of-pocket for a whole doctor’s visit will set us back another month or two. What should I do? I can’t miss work for the two weeks that it will take me to recover on my own. Where do I go?

Can you see what prescriptions you receive via your health insurance?

Thursday, June 25th, 2009
I just moved out, but I am still on my parent’s health insurance until the end of the year. Can they see when I’ve been to the doctor and what prescriptions I’ve received? Can they see this through the insurance company? I am only asking because my dentist leaked info to them about my teeth. Teeth aren’t a big deal, but I don’t need them to know every time I go to the doctor or get a prescription.
